How about both 22 caliber, shoot what you got, at 25 yards and another shoot at 100 yards with whatever milsurp rifle? Have a first place and second place in each.
Wait till my mauser turns up!

I'll be in it.
Strangely enough we don't have a marked 25 yards on our range - we start our .22 comps at 40 yards. So I'll have to mark it out myself using those new fangled metric thingies - I'm pretty sure 25 yards is about, ...um.....let's see now...divide by 12, carry the 7, yep I'm guessin' 3 of them there metre thingies would be about right

Duncan,
I'm sure it's a good bit of kit but I like my math better (and I need all the help I can get).

Before I go typing up the fine points, any other ideas.
Number of rounds fired? Choice of targets?

How 'bout offhand, 50 meters, any military rifle? now that would be a test of the shooter...

If you're going to shoot open sights (as most military is) make the target something/anything with a 6 inch black.
And to take belgmart's idea a little further how about offhand at 50m for the .22 and offhand at 100m for the centrfire ?
And 10 rounds cause 5 holes spread all over the target looks pretty sparse.
Just my 2 cents worth.
