Ian,

looks like my meaning was lost in the internet translation. I was more bemused by the fact that there is a calibre limitation on what you can defend yourself with. I mean, dead is dead be it from a .38 or .40 or .45. Besides there tends to be a self limiting factor in that no sane person is going to carry a .50 calibre handgun for personal protection if it needs to be concealed.

Then there's the fact that I bet the other side don't have the same rules. :mrgreen:

Yes Woftam, it bemuses quite a lot of people here!!!!! As usual its a political thing, the powers that be don't want to upset anybody by allowing people to carry something with a bit more poke!!! Hell, it wouldnt be right, that if you did have to defend yourself you would actually kill someone in the process.
