Been carrying the S&W 60-10, have a little trouble getting a holster to fit as mine has a 3"bbl, not the usual 2 1/8". Just for diffrent I recently started using the Sig 220. A LOT bigger but the Don Hume IWB holster helps a LOT.

I like my Sig p220. My second choice is a modified M1911A1 in condition one.

NOT A CRITICISM JUST AN OBSERVATION

The thought of including a handgun when getting dressed in the morning is so completely alien to me unless I am wearing uniform. Can't quite get my head round it.

A lot of the French carry a clasp knife in a pouch on their belts but I suspect it is mostly used for cutting cheese/bread/sausage/pate etc at mealtimes when they are working or out hunting.

I don't carry anything either on me or in the car - oh, except an Opinal folding knife in the car for flattening boxes when I go to the tip.

Duncan, It is a state of mind. The police here are overworked, and SCOUS has declaired that they( law enforcement) are not responsible for the safety of the individual, only society as a whole. They are a reactive force, not proactive.

I defend myself and my family.

Duncan, if it is of any consolation I don't carry any firearms around with me either, nor would I want to legally carry.

When I got out of the service lots of years ago I took a job running a store in a getto area for a furniture credit merchant. Place used to get broken into regular. I got held up a few times as well before I got a better job. They always wanted any gun I had as well as the money. I always kept mine hidden pretty well, and since the robber always had the drop on me, I wasn't going to reach for it and I never gave it to them, just the money changed hands.

Anyway, guy who ran his own like store on the other side of the street used to advertise that he carried a gun. Much of the time he wore it in a holster attached to his belt. Nobody was going to mess with him. One morning when opening up, a thug came up behind him and bashed in his head with a tire tool. So much for gun protection.

I don't see why most people who do carry a pistol want to carry one around. Just seems like one more thing that might get you in trouble rather than prevent trouble. But....to each his own.

LIKE I SAID...............

It was in no way a criticism, I just wondered about it. Your point of view Niner is interesting too.

Thanks for the info guys!

I carry a gun because a cop is to heavy.
