Hello Martin,

I was wrong, not a 50/50 mix of BLO and turpentine, just normal "Leinölfirnis"!!!!!!!!

That is double boiled linseed oil with addition of dryers.

You can mix that with turpentine, but it works as is also real good.

BTW, will we meet at Kassel?????????

As for the M986 carbine, it feels and handles real good, weighting 3650g it is lighter than a K98k, but the rubber butplate and longer butt stock make it a pleasent shooter.

Thanks Chris.

I used linseed oil on the stock of my M39.

Works real good, but it dries a bit slow.

About Kassel....

When it's up to me I'll be there on Thursday Chris.

I don't think that a day off will be a problem.

Every year we drive over with a few members of our gunclub.

At this moment we do not know what day we will drive over to Kassel.

I'll let you know asap.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

OK, I hope, everythning works out good and we wil meet at Kassel, maybe Mr. Wrobel will be there too, have not reached him yet.

I did put on the BLO on a sunny day, layed the stock on my car and let it sit in the sun.

But seems like summer is over for now :-((((((((((

I hope so too Chris.

I've got some range time coming up next Thursday so I can start asking around who is going to Kassel and more important....when.

I'll keep you posted on this one.

Thanks for the "put the stock in the car" tip.

I'll keep that one in mind for next year.

Martin

wonderful job--I love to see quality work done on firearms (or most anything in woodworking)---my 85 yr old hands won't do want I would like to accomplish anymore so I admire others more than I used to---best of fortune

Too bad :(

But if you are lucky Karl-Heinz Wrobel will be there on Friday, maybe you can have a littel chat with him and drink a beer?

I have no time to come on Friday, have to work.

Sorry Chris.

Maybe some other time.

I'd love to meet Mr. Wrobel, but I think it's almost impossible to find him there.

Any suggestions?????

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

From time to time he is also here, but to be sure, contact him via gunboards.com.

I met him and Vic 3 years ago, was a real exiting day, first getting a L35 rig and than meeting two great collectors and hunt with them

Done.

I sent him a message 5 minutes ago.

I hope he will be in Kassel on the 30th and that he has some time for me.

I'll keep you posted Chris.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin
