He re-loads his own cases and shoots it but the re-loads look like the rifle, dirty and sort of thrown together. He does have trouble closing the breech and I suspect it is because of the rust! Don't think its too bad for accuracy an 25 mtrs. Have never seen him shoot it at 50 mtrs.

you stand well clear of him on the firing line.

Yes that is the bayonet fixture, for the P1887 I believe.

Holy shit Duncan, thats a crying shame that guy doesnt look after the rifle. I couldnt sleep at night if I knew one of my rifles was rusting like that!!!!!!

45-70 in a MK IV would be a real challenge indeed, as Adam said - bores run around .470... The original 577-450 is way more fun, but if you can get it cheap enough, you can - in the worst case - still use the action for building another rifle...

........and he says that ALL this guys guns are in the same state. Obviously I can't shame him into selling it! Seems he sleeved it himself so god knows what state the breech is in. Still, 70€ it is going to be
