Milsurp After Hours

I guess I must be weird because I actually liked the C Rations...especially the chicken/turkey cans.

My Dad brought home a K ration box he had with him when he was shot in WW2. If you ever tried a K, you'll know that the C was heaven in comparison.

Ham & Limas.

Nobody ever ate them. Couldn't trade them to the locals.

Only use was as targets. When hit by an M-16 bullet they exploded in a very satisfying light green mist.

It helped to be upwind.

My memory is a bit vauge, but we had a ham varation in a B-2 ccan... thought it was Ham and eggs, choped... that was gross. I might have been the Ham and Lima beans.

I was on a flash OP with mountianyards for sucerity... and they wouldn't eat thees C-rats. Allthough, they would eat the rats was shot!

I had the old M-16 with the open three pronged flash suppressior that worked great as a wire cutter to open the C-rat boxes. You would place the mussel on the wire and twist the stock... snappp the wire would break.

Ahh yes Tropical chocolate the kind that came in sundrie packs.We refferd to as gorilla bars.

I was a platoon sgt in a Ranger company at camp Eagel the first sgt and I were making run to Phu Bia we took along all the left over stuff from the sundrie packs{always a lot of left over gorilla bars and soap} we were throwing the stuff to the kids along the road, on the return trip thy were lined up along the road throwing the gorilla bars back at us. seams NO one wanted them.

We got a recipy book from Tobasco, and learned how to make a frosting for the pound cake from that 'stuff'.
