Was looking at the Alabama calendar and the state celebrates the birthdays of Robert E Lee and Martin Luther King Jr. on the same day in January.
That combination must make for an interesting parade thru downtown... :loco:


From what I have read, it seems that R. E. Lee was a more upstanding and honorable man than J. Davis.
Or is that just the view put out by those supporting "The War of Northern Aggression"? :cool:

Jeff Davis was honorable enough. He had a home at Biloxi Mississippi at the end of his life. If he was still around he could do some gambling at the casinos.

Now the difference between Davis and Lee is that Davis was mortal. Lee was divine. :rebel:

That Martin Luther King and Lee had the same birthday worked out in keeping the peace by rolling two holidays into one.
