I have to go with my Lithgow No1 MkIII* - mainly because it is a really nice rifle to shoot and very accurate. I also enjoy using it because of the part it played in our history.

Second choice would be my Faz No5 Mk1 - novelty value and it is really nice having a rifle of its vintage in basically unused condition, just a couple of handling marks in the timber.

Hi High Wall,

A happy new year and welcome to this forum, I enjoy my Lithgow too although I may have to let it go as I rationalise my collection.

Any chance of some pictures of you rifles please?

Hi Scotsman,

thanks for the post and a belated welcome to this site and this forum.

Yes the Mk2s are indeed tack drives and the cream of No 4s in fit and finish.

Mine would have to be my MkI*** - a 1912 Enfield with a short butt. Although I'm average size (5'8" and ***lbs) it is just a perfect fit and the balance is magic.

However I have a Long Lee waiting at home that I have yet to fire so this may change.

I enjoy shooting my BSA 1918 No.1 Mk III*.

A historic rifle (vet bringback) with an excellent bore.

It seems to shoot accurately any ammo I feed her from 1917 to 1941 ammo. I've never had any problems with British ammo either. An excellent rifle in my opinion. :USA:

I found a Ishapore 2a that was attacked by Gibbs to make it look like a jungle carbine. Since the price was so cheap I picked it up as a hunting rifle for my 14 y/o son. This rifle is one of my most accurate Enfields and loves S.African surplus.

Hi Sam,

welcome to these boards and thanks for you input.

We'd all love to see some pics of your Enfields, I'd like to see one of your Gibbs, although we not like it they are now party of the Enfield story.

Can you still get SA .303" over there?

Whilest I selected the no1 mk 3 as my favorite shooter, I have a very soft spot for my Lee-Speed. Can there only be one favorite Lee-Enfield, I think not
