The mention of falling plate targets reminds me of time with the Army Cadet Force, we used polo mints ("lifesavers" in the US?) as 'falling plate' targets on the .22" range (No.8 rifles) with differing points awarded if the just fell over (a near miss would do that) or shattered (a hit), I used to be reasonable at that....these days I'm not sure I could even see a polo clearly at 25 yards.

I plead guilty to over-egging the pudding! (Having spent the time copying and loading them, they were going to be posted, come what may - even if I had to start a new thread to do it :D )

Still, with the colour photos Mick provided and the bits pinched from the manual, it should be possible to make sets of pre-Great War targets, if anyone felt so inclined.
