Finally acquired a MLE seer. Now all we need is to change it over, reload some ammo, find a tyre and a looooonnnnnnggggggg piece of rope

Joe,
Generally someone who is reluctant to have a go at something but in my trusty Chambers English Dictionary
it is : " . . . one who bets, gambles, speculates or does anything else in a small way".
Graeme,
I'll take you up on that; the worst thing that can happen with a Lee-Enfield is that excess pressure blows half the bolthead off and as this always departs at a 45 degree angle to the right it is of no consequence except to left handed shooters
If we can make a date I'll load up some rounds and I'll show you how to shoot

A person who does not participate or unreasonably stops participating is known as a piker. A piker, by definition, pikes. That generally isn't a good thing, but the term can be used by way of explanation, 'Sorry mate, gotta pike on ya. Got me oldies coming over this arvie for a barbie. Shocker eh'.

Eoin,
Just found your post, it didn't show up when I was posting and then I was straight out the door to the range. So my apologies if I seemed to be rudely ignoring you.
Getting together to fire off a few rounds (followed by a barbie, beers and swapping lies) sounds like a great idea.
I'll get on to Gary to make sure he received the seer in the mail and look at setting up a date for the firing.
Currently I'm looking at next week some time. From my point of view mid week would be better but it may end up being the weekend. What works best for you ?
Cheers
Graeme
