It had been so long since I had a chance to go to the range that I almost had to run Mapquest to get there. Anyway, here is my first go at this contest using my Italian M1891/41 Carcano and some handloads that I found while packing up for the move to Pennsylvania.
Rifle: Italian M1891/41 6.5 Carcano

Targets shot last week

Here are two targets I shot last week.
Both are with M1 Garand shooting handloads of M72 173gn. bullets over 45gns. of 4895 in Federal brass with Federal GM210M primers.
First is at 50 yards off hand. The trigger job Gus of Armalite did for me at Perry has helped my off hand immensely- my usual downfall in matches. The trigger was "
very safe" per the CMP Armorers before the work. This score is 87. I shot another target with a lower score but a very interesting vertical string of 7 shots. He also tightened my gas cylinder to barrel connection and gave me a tighter lock- gun shoots well but at a totally different point of aim from before. I need to relearn my sight settings- I'm glad he did the work after the matches but then again we might have caught the loose windage screw that ruined my rapid fire score

!
Second target is at 100 yards in the prone position with no change in sight adjustments. Score is 88-1X.
