Not sure I know what you mean about full programs on the desktop. What types of programs do you mean?
I checked my desktop and there were no programs running that I found.

As I understand it vern, and thats a contradiction in terms sometimes a programme installs on the desktop instead of in the 'C' drive programme file. I have had this wityh Microshite Maliscious Software tool and a couple of others in the past, all of which I changed.

The taskbar that you see on my post earlier was before I had to reinstall W7 after a virus got past my then AV software (which I no longer use!) I have whittled down icons since then!
