"Sniffing the air"
Taken with a new lens. It's a Sigma 18-200mm image stabilized zoom which arrived today.
This was taken at 200mm at 200asa. It has not been cropped or 'tweeked' apart from small correction in the contrast.

Stablization by modern camera programing is amazing. I got this camera that is smart enough to snap several pictures at once and somehow combine the best features of each into one photo or maybe it just picks the best one and saves it. Don't ask me how it works...I have no idea. The ability to take low light photos hand held is a great benefit.

Although I don't know for certain Robert it is a well known fact that you can 'enhance' an image by sandwiching 2 or more copies of the same image in differing exposures / saturation to produce a seemingly sharper, punchier result.
Here is a hastily rushed example done in Photoshop. It is a subtle technique that does not need big contrasts for it to work. Hope it can be seen .

Here is one description I pulled up just now. Not that it tells me much as to what it is actually doing.
In the Hand-held Twilight and Anti Motion Blur shooting modes, the DSC-HX9V takes six shots in a rapid sequence, typically at a high sensitivity setting and a (relatively) fast shutter speed, and then combines them into a single image that has somewhat less noise than a single shot taken at the same ISO and exposure settings. In my experience, the difference between the two modes is that in Anti Motion Blur mode, the camera is more willing to pick a really high ISO setting like ISO 1600 to maintain a fast shutter speed, whereas in Hand-held Twilight mode, it will only go as high as absolutely necessary to avoid camera shake at the chosen focal length. If light levels are truly low, however, the HX9V will pick a high ISO speed even in this mode.
