What's wrong with Tommy Maken and the Clancy Brothers? They were important to the folk music revival in America in the early 60's. They were better singers than the example Karl offered I'd say. Back fifty years ago they were in the middle of the Greenish Village folk revival scene that brewed up Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul and Mary and Joan Bias and the others. They were a significant contributor to the path popular music took in the years that followed their first success.

I still have most of the Clancy brothers records in the LP stereo form. They still hold up as music without an expiration date attached.
