Picked this one up about 2 years ago from a crate of refurb's, and it is one rifle that has had a colorful life. It started life in 1935 as a PE sniper, it was MO stamped latter in life and was issued to the East Germans, DDR /1\ latter on in life, before being returned to the Soviet union to get it's final refurbishment and tucked away in a warehouse awaiting it's next cal to duty.

Oh and it's serial Number, well it will take a Full House to beat it........

A nice rifle with a lot of history. A pity it has that big import mark on it. Can't they make it smaller and hide it under the wood? Though, I suppose, the import stamp is marking another phase in the history of the rifle for future generations to look back on, assuming the rifle survives another few decades.

Regards
Peter.

Yes Petter the import marks at first where usually very small and under the end of the barrel or on the reciever at the wood line, but at some point someone from the alaphabet squad decided they need to be bigger, though lately the most recent imports appear to be making the less intrusive.

I guess though it's still a small price to pay to beable to have these gems imported to our shores.
