Just seen a piece on the news that suggests the cost of a Firearms and Shotgun Licence in the UK may double it the police get their way.
Nothing comes up on the web yet but will keep looking............

I guess it never crossed their minds that if they didn't require a license and inspection of people's homes then there would be no loss of money for the police and a savings for the gun owner of out of pocket expense as well as leaving the police more on the clock time to look for actual bad guys.

And then what would they do with all the (otherwise pointless) bureaucrats employed to shuffle the paperwork........?

They could farm it out to the private sector and save £5 million ......
