Another hole in my collection has been filled, I received my 55 Romanian Instructie M44 carbine today and all I can say is WOW , looks like it was attached by a rabid beaver .
Now in all honesty I didn’t expect it to be a cream puff, not that the Romanians where likely to use pristine M44’s for training, but this rifle just oozes character. The stock has more than it’s share of dings, dents, (and teeth marks) and the bore is a sewer pipe, but it is all Romanian parts and is stamped “Instructie” on the butt stock along with the tell-tale red paint stripe.

In other training rifles of issue caliber paint would mean, "whatever you do...don't shoot this thing". Is there anything about this rifle that would prevent it from firing? Not that I suggest you try it. Just wondering. Firing pin in place? Barrel not blocked or anything?

While I don't plan on firing this one there is nothing to prevent this rifle from firing, however the bore is do bad the bullet may come out sideways.
