Long considered the pinnacle of Mosin carbine production, Polish produced M44’s ( Mosin kbk wz.44) where produced at Radom from 1951-1955 with a total of 343,000 produced.

I have been lucky enough to acquire a very hard to find 1951 model that is matching numbers and unissued. It has the unusual dark colored hard wood stock, pristine bore, bluing that rivals any sporting rifle, and a polish issued carbine sling.

It will be a nice addition along side my 52 & 53 M44’s

That 1951 has a nice stock. Looks like it has a better finish than the average assembly line stock, besides, as you noted, being darker. Any chance it was refinished ? Or..maybe ...it might have been made for some special honor guard kind of duty? Or...maybe I'm just day dreaming. :loco:

Very nice collection!! I agree, the 1951 stick does look above average.

Thanks Guys, the stock on this rifle is as it left Radom in 1951. About 15% of the Polish Mosin Nagants are dark wood stocks, but few are this clean, and being on a 51 made it to good to pass up.
