Milsurp After Hours

I am coming to this great well of knowledge to get some info on a German Schutzen pellet rifle a friend of mine recieved from his father. His father did some work for a gentleman some time back in exchange for this rifle. He mostly just wants to know about how old it is and what to value it at for his homeowners insurance.
