I went to see the Vulcan in its hanger at Finningley on Sunday. They were having an open day so we went to see it. It is a shame it is having to stop flying next month. A enjoyable couple of hours. It is doing a display on Saturday at Church Fenton, about 30 miles away from me, but I am not able to go as we are going out for lunch with my wife's father for his 80th birthday. I would have gone to see it fly for one last time otherwise. A few pics.

Very cool looking plane and great photos, would like to see it sometime.

I see it has the one-handed joystick like the B-1b and Tu-160, personally, I just think that a
joystick doesn't look right in a dual-control bomber, but that's just me.
Always thought the joystick was great for fighters, but a half-wheel looks better in bombers......

Nice pics, shame it's being grounded Peter. A few years back I took a tour of XM594 at the Newark Air Museum, really interesting aircraft and I guess you'll know them well from your own RAF service.

Apparently she has to be grounded because of the lack of commercially available spare parts or so it said on BBC News recently

Too bad, a cool looking plane. Kind of a cousin to our B-58 Hustler.........
