Great looking rifle you got there lmc1016.
Congrats on the buy.
I especially like the wood on it.
I myself am the proud owner of a 1942 VKT M39 build on a 1906 Ishevsk receiver.
It is my best shooter

When I got my 1st. M39 there was a lot of black grease on it. I removed it from the metal with out a problem, BUT the D*$B stock would not come clean! I scrubed that stock with mineral spirits, and even used PP and Windex after to nuturalize the PP.
Soooo, I sent in some pics and found out the wood has natural black spots because it's 'Artic Burch'!
I hate the cold.
Thanx Dante'
