The question is what exactly needs doing. The protesters are being asked what needs to be done but they seem to be just wanting something to make it all better and don't seem to know exactly what that something is. They blindly think most of the problem has to do with black guns and anybody who owns one and offer nothing practical as a solution to stop crazy people with a wish to murder large numbers of defenseless people from doing so with the guns already in society. They all seem to firmly blame "assault rifles" in general and the "NRA" and a Congress that is controlled by special interests that aren't interested in the problem.

The same blind mindset is pushed in Australia, every time (almost) that there is a shooting in the US
the local Greens and Gun Control Australia get on their bandwagon and start screaming for tougher gun laws.

The 'almost' above is the exclusion of anything positive that happens there.
Last weeks school shooting in Maryland, where the criminal got a swift comeuppance barely made the news, two TV channels mentioned it briefly and a leading newspaper, the Sydney Morning Herald, buried it on page 17.

There were no follow-ups, no interviews, none of the usual 'talking heads' had a word to say, and the Greens and GCA were thunderous in their silence.

Jaelynn Willey, the first victim, has unfortunately died. Her death also barely rated a mention.
Nor has there been any local praise for the " ...School resource officer Blaine Gaskill responded to the scene in less than a minute, the sheriff said. Gaskill fired a round at the shooter, and the shooter fired a round simultaneously, Cameron said."
