Milsurp After Hours

Picked this one up on line to scratch my itch for a K98k sniper rifle without dropping 10K. It was built by Charles Romero who is know for make some very nice reproduction K98 snipers. Had it out to the range and so far I am very pleased with its performance.

What is the leather pad right in front of the scope?

Thanks Niner, the leather cover over the front sight was originally designed to protect the front sights from damage on Cavalry Carbines. For some reason it seams a few snipers also put them on there snipers in WW@, for reasons nobody quite knows.
