Milsurp After Hours

Here's few more pictures from the Phoenix, these were sent to me by Dev and Jan. I was shooting with Dev and Jan his partner took the pictures.





Entrance to Bisley camp.

Here we are getting ready to shoot a detail, we were shooting in threes on the same target, shot about and marking each others cards. Both Eddie and Dev were shooting "F" class, each to his own all those "V" bulls they keep getting would get boring to me.





Dev is on the right with a Remington 700 in .308" and the gentleman on my left is Eddie a Glaswegian shooting a custom job in .223", we'd met Eddie in the Artsists previously and had few drams.

nice pics Adam, but whats with the scopes on the rifles ,after all it is only 400 yards .


I would like to visit Bisley some day but what with work and distances it makes it difficult.

I agree.





Scopes are cheating and what is more important, they take away any excuses that you might have had for missing the target.





As I need all the excuses I can get it's iron sights for me.

The rifles are OK, but I like th' bonnet

I was so lucky with the bunnet Eoin.

It's known as a Balmoral Bunnet amongst other names.

When Patrick was over here we went to a small arms fair at Scotch Corner and lo and behold the first stall that we hit upon entry was selling a few of these bunnets.

I'd been after one for a while as they are a traditional Highland head wear and not a military style per se.

The bonus was that it had the Sutherland badge on it, which is a rarity in itself.

The bunnet and badge are not original, the bunnet is ex military issue and the seller had obviously a bunch of exmilitary ones and was stitching on the back tartan and sticking badges on to sell.

However it was just what I was looking for, not correct militarily speaking but OK for a civilian Sutherland like me, I was a happy laddie and wear my Sutherland Clan Balmoral Bunnet with great pride.

I was shooting with Dev and Jan his partner took the pictures.

Obviously Dev and Jan drew straws and Dev lost.
