My modest collection of the pointy bits what goes on Lee Enfields to make them just that little bit more unattractive to the opposition.

Good collection, I see you have a nice No. 7 bayonet in there, I just missed out on a very nice example of one at the range yesterday.

Shall I depress you further by saying the No7 was a $50AUD (20 GBP) backyard special. Should I see another I'll keep you in mind.

I would appreciate that Woftam, the one i saw went for £80, but it was a minter.

I thought I'd add my own humble collection to the display, unfortunately, it's nowhere as extensive as Woftam's..
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b313/ ... yonet2.jpg[/pic]
From Left to Right:
1913 Remington (for my P 14);
1907 (later pattern) - 1917 (SMLE No.Mk III*);
1907 (earlier pattern - quillon) - 1908 (SMLE No.I Mk III);
1903 - no date# (shares the No.1 Mk III);
1888 Lee-Metford/Long Lee Enfield bayonet.....
Damn, I've got to buy a rifle to fit that one.
Regards
Tom
# A slightly strange one this, the scabbard has no means to fasten it to a soldier's equipment and there is Arabic script along the back strap of the hilt.
Could one of the mods please resize the picture

Maybe not as many but certainly a couple I find desirable. Namely the 1888 and especially the hooked quillion. Also need the Remington but not as expensive or hard to find as the hooked quillion. With any luck I may get one before I head back to Aussie. Don't suppose any of yours are for sale ?

Hi Woftam ,
Sorry, mine aren't for sale (at the moment*), I've spent too long trying to find them, however, if you look slippy there is an 1888 for sale on e-Bay at
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWA:IT
It looks to be in resonable nick and very cheap at £32.00 (About AU$76), but you'll have to move fast, the auction ends 01-Nov-05 16:23:14 GMT (about 13 hours from the time of this post).
If that fails, I might have an 1888 for sale, depending on the one arriving from the USA for me (I've also got a spare 1888 and 1903, but neither have scabbards and are exceedingly pitted - I seriously doubt you'll want either of those, the locks still function, but the blades are very pitted+).
1903s are suddenly turning up on e-Bay, I think a batch may have come to light or a collection is being broken (they all seem slightly different).
IMA (
http://www.ima-usa.com/ ) have modern made reproductions of the quillion bayonet which may fill a gap in the collection while you're chasing the real thing (The only thing I can see wrong from the photos is that the quillion section seems too square). Those are priced at US$ 59.95 ( approx AU$ 80).
Good Hunting.
Tom
p.s: Remington '13s are turning up on e-Bay (I've seen three since I bought mine), but I don't have the addresses.
* I have a new 1888 Mk II arriving from the USA, hopefully the condition will be better than my present one.
+ Drop me an e-mail address and I'll get a couple of photos to you if you can't find better.

my humble holdings match yours in these early ones [the hookie being a 1910 mole] but i do have an assortment of the pointy bits for the no4 as well , these of coarse are much more reasonably priced , youre well rounded in your accumulation from what i see - alas the first photo is gone or inaccessable for me and i do wish i could have seen it , this voyerism is one of my vices
