.22 ammo

Been playing with my .22 Herter's (Germany) pistol out in my shop shooting into several layers of ½" plywood.
Found out I can do about 6 shots before I choke on the smoke and have to open the door. Was at the local
general store and bought 200 rounds of .22 short, was surprised they still make them. My thinking was they
may be quieter than my .22 sub-sonic LR ammo. So I tried alternating rounds between the two. As far as
I could tell, there was really no difference in sound. Maybe I just wasted my $$ on the short rounds as I don't
know what else they are good for. And I paid 16¢ a round, could have bought LR for less online in bulk, but
I didn't need anymore LR so I just paid the store price.
Sadly, shooting the .22 in my shop is about the only shooting I have done since covid started.
This photo is of the original grips that I quickly changed out for solid black grips.
