Milsurp After Hours

Found this Samco advertisement in with some other paper that somehow I had saved. Samco was never the cheapest ammo supplier...but they sold some surplus rifles that were not otherwise easily found. The most notorious rifle they are famous for is the Spanish Mausers that were converted from 7mm to the more powerful NATO round. I took a look at the ammo offerings.

I went back and looked at what I was paying about 10 to 12 years ago and prices have basically
doubled since then. Since I rarely shoot anymore, the prices are not a problem for me, sadly. ...

I did an ammo inventory a couple years ago. Have no idea where the list is at the moment. Can't find it on my computer. I haven't been shooting in so long acquiring more ammo is out of the question. Guess I'll look around some more on some saved discs maybe...or just take another count.

Me too, I will never shoot up the ammo I already have so not buying any more. Although I did buy a box of
.30-40 for the Krag I posted, that was the most I ever paid for any ammo in my life, and it's not even my rifle. ....

Have been reloading for all my firearms for quite a few years now, makes much more financial sense here.
My last purchase was for 40 rounds of 7,62 x 51 NATO which came from State-owned Giraites Ginkluotes Gamykla, Lithuania via a French agent.

I have plenty of brass so just buy bullets when needed. I try and maintain a stock level of about 4 lbs of all powders.
Vhitavuri N140 ia about 109€ / $118 for a kil + delivery Not Hazmat, we don't do that here.

I have reloaded for a few calibers of more common sorts and I still have a pound or two of powder and bullets of multiple calibers. Some of my ammo consists of my reloads.....303, 45acp, 357mag, 30 carbine. However there are other calibers.... some ammo I have various numbers of rounds ready made....Nagant, 8mm Mauser, 8mm Manlicher, 30.06, etc., that are surplus. I have new ammo in a half dozen or more versions of mostly common calibers, mostly pistol ammo and a couple bricks of .22.
