I posted this on the old Milsurp site just before it went "tits up" so here it is again.
Mauser 71/84 in 11mm, manufactured in Danzig 1887, sn 7437.

Nice looking rifle, Joe.
What is the ammo situation with it?

Its considered an obsolete calibre over here Curtis and does`nt require a firearms certificate, if i wanted to shoot it i would have to put it on fac, and acquire the neccesary reloading equipment.

Gott und Himmel! She's gorgeous!
Much, much, much, better than the example I bought.
This one's seen a little harder life than your rifle, I reckon

I got her cheap though
Came from an estate auction where the previous owner had this rifle (and a few others) in a closet for 40+ years. (Should have seen the dead spiders coming out of the bore

).
Picked it up for $80, as the other guys at the auction only cared about the hunting rifles.
Oddly, I was bidding on a Swiss Vetterli too and two guys bit it up over $400! It wasn't that nice either. I think they thought it was an "old" rifle because of it's odd looks. The winner said he was going to hang it over his fireplace
She now resides with a friend who appreciates cleaning Black Powder more than I do and spending obscene amounts of $ on obsolete brass!
