What I did last night...

What I did was file a spare front sight base dovetail to accept a Lyman No17 globe sight.

It's going on my range rifle, if I can get it past the bayonet lugs.

I think AJ Parker still have some of their original foresight globes and inserts.

Well, Adam, we here in the Colonies must make do with what we may find. The Lyman #17 is pretty easy to get ahold of Stateside and there are lots of Chinese coarse and fine cut needle files to be had.

So it's an easy enough project.

If anyone is making one of these, by the way---the tabs on the sight inserts for the #17 just barely clear the sides of the No4 rifle's sight protector ears.

Make sure your rifle's sight protector ears are not bent inward and be sure they leave the tabs on the insert free, before tightening the screw that fixes the protector to the sight block----
