$10 and a bit of your brain.....

From an add by a Sydney gun store that should know better...or, maybe, it's just their printer.

Eoin.

Just noticed when I viewed the post, I'll bet that they meant 'sale' and not 'safe' tut...tut.

Eoin,

I'd be inclined towards safe being correct, ie have the firearm but storage not yet in place. For example if you're moving, especially interstate.

I'm more concerned they want to be in possession of firearms for which there is no registered owner - "Firearms licence lapsed ?"

Well on a second reading I'm still going for 'sale' as one arranges a sale but purchases a safe.

The liscence lapsed bit is OK as there is provision in the Act for dealers to store registered firearms pending sale or other disposal including waiting to have liscences sorted out.

I just love some of the things that are put in adds, especially firearms adds. We still see "Model 1892 Winchester Rifle, 32/20,Hexagonal barrel"

and recently in the 'Shooters' Journal' there was one for a No1 Mk4 with Singer sights--- so what they meant was No4 Mk1, I perked up when I read it and was trying to justify another rifle, the price was right and I'd love another No1 Mk4, then the Singer sight bit sunk in.

Semantics I know, but one can also 'arrange' the purchase, delivery and installation of a safe.

If you like amusing adds try ebay. One recent groaner was the P1888 for sale as being developed for the SMLE.
