Milsurp After Hours

Pics of my new 1904K00/11(S/N P.2XX)Zoll Customs only 300 made in 1904 and like stated in other post only around 973 believed to have been made total (info by Guisan, Thank you).

From what I've read it is a Model 1889/1900 Short Rifle (Kurze Gewehre) known as a K00/11. These special S/N (P.2XX) rifles were special ordered for Switzerlands Zoll Customs service and converted from the 1889/1900 rifles.


From my reading it sounds like the actual 1900 rifle were built in the short configuration,(the Kurz Gewehr was "based" on the 1896-pattern action; apart from its length, the smaller magazine and reduced-range sight, it was similar to the M1889/96 infantry rifle)key word "based".





Seeing how the 1900 was a short rifle and going by the movement of the forward spring clip on this stock I believe this K00/11 stock was actually converted from a 1889/96 long rifle stock. Any help on this questimation (quess) from the experts appreciated?

Butt Stock sling moved to side like the K31 and old sling mount plugged.

Stock middle band spring clip was moved back about the length of clip and plugged. Inside barrel grove shows where spring clip nut was moved back and plugged also.

Thanks for sharing Wes....that definitely a very interesting piece. My K00/11 as a more typical K11 stock, but of course it isn't a Zoll rifle either.


If your rifle has an original converted 89/96 stock, it should have a grafted pistol grip, as the 89/96 had a straight stock, like the 1889.


Perhaps someone else has more info about this....I'll try and see what I can find on mine.

Didn't think about the grafted pistol grip Phil. Wonder what the story is on this stock, numbers match the rifle. Could it be a replacement stock made from a M1911 stock?

The 1900 short rifles weren't designed to use the 1889 magazine. They used a 6-round magazine unique to the 1900 and 1905 models.
