Couldn't be happier with the new #5 Faz

Bob ran nearly 50 rounds through it this morning, most of it vaporizing clay pigeons out on the berm.

29 rounds of light handloads, 150gn SP's over 37gn of IMR-4895

20 rounds of factory Hot Shot 180gn FMJ, he grumbled a bit about the recoil with these but he didn't stop shooting them.

1 round handload 174gn SMK over 45gn of H4350, he didn't like that at all.

I got to shoot all of 3 or 4 rounds in it.

The 1916 Short Rifle is dead on now with it's new front sight blade also.

While we were at the range I had a chance to look thru an EOTech holographic sight, I have got to get one of those for the CAR15.

I guess the 1916 is going back in the cabinet, I couldn't get him to shoot anything besides the #5 which he has begun to refer to as "his #5".

The bedding is about perfect, with the handguard off you can put a dollar around the barrel and slide it freely all the way down to the Knoxform. As far as I can tell the handguard does not come in contact the barrel either.

We used a slip on recoil pad today but I bought a #4 butt stock from Springfield Sporters and I am going to cut it down a bit and put a good 1" pad on it.

I am real happy with the 37gn load of IMR-4895, he didn't complain about the kick and there was no sooting on the brass. The primers were backed out a bit but that's to be expected with lower power loads.

I am satisfied that any pig that ventures within 100 yards of him is dead meat. Where we are going to be hunting I doubt if there will be any shots over 50 yards.
