Today was our last shoot for this year

and one of the final events entailed shooting a coloured balloon suspended above the target before any scoring shots could be fired.
The first detail were all using scopes so almost all busted theirs' first shot.

You got to admit 'scopes are cheating.
In one of the clubs I shoot at they have everything from Accuracy Internationals to spanking new Sakos all in shiny silvery steel and matt black plastic.
They are tricked out in hightech vari power, lens coated, parallax adjusted, mildotted, weaver mounted, hi res subjective/objective, 1/8moa click adjustble, tea making miracle scopes that can see trough brick walls in the dark, along with bipods, aftermarket triggers, adjustable stocks and recoil plates.
I can lie there all day putting shot after shot into the Xring out to 600 yrds and beyond, and so can anyone else, but I just don't find shooting them fun, challenging, interesting or fulfilling.
Its just all so easy, I don't learn anything from it, to me for something to be worthwhile it needs to demand that I put something into it before I get something out of it.
These modern rifles are wonderful things, I just couldn't pay money for one.

Couldn't agree more, Adam.
That's why I'm so happy wth the 94 that Ishot with the Cadet conversion, with truly open and 'primitive' sights. See 'I didn't shoot these...'. and note those 6 in the 9 ring

Our last outdoor shoot for this year will be next Saturday, at Battle Hill range. Hope the weather is kind to us
