I have seen advertised a polish Makarov, at least thats what thy call it. it is chamberd in the 9x18 Makarov round. It is called a model P 64.I have 3 Maks a Bulgarian East German and Russian actually more than that as I have 5 Bulgarians,I also have 2 Polish PA 63s. I have shot several Maks and PA 63s. both are fine pistols but the Mak is more accurate, at least in my hands. My question dose any one have expirence with the P 64 or can you give me some feed back about them. thy are new unissued. The bug has bit me and I am going to get one anyway but would like to hear some about them.

As noted, they aren't really Makarovs, but the US gun wholesalers thing that the public is too stupid to understand that this is the same caliber as a Makarov but a different desing, so they get called "Polish Maks".
Anyway, on to the good stuff. Compared with a real Makarov, I prefer the real Mak. P64 is handier, but the Makarov has less recoil, is more accurate, and seems to be finished a bit better (I'm comparing it with my EG Mak).
The 64 that I tried was reliable through 6-7 mags of S&B ammo, and accurate enough, I suppose for plinking. Recoil as stated was a bit more "stout" than a regular Mak, but the pistol was handy.
For the money, it's not a bad little gun Not a world beater but fairly decent.

Sold!
You've convinced me Pitbull, I'll have two just pop them in the post mate.
Don't tell Tony though, I don't think he trusts people with guns.

I was shooting mine along with my S&W 44 mag & the hit to the web of your hand is about the same. They are a great size for concealed carry but the DA trigger pull sux. For the price though, grab a few.

But I was a poster on the old server, just had to re-register here recently.
I had about 5 of those little P64's. The real Mak is much smoother on the digits, but the size of these makes it a good fit in the back pocket!
Thanks all

The 2 P64s arrived yesterday I havent done much but dry fire one of them and got the expected HARD HARD da trigger pull sa was not too bad need to get them cleaned up and hit the range hopfully this week end, befor cleaning thy look primo with a nice finish no wear marks no nicks scrapes or scratches However who in sam hill did those grips thy are shurely not the originals must be some abortion thy added to satisfy the BATF I have seen way better grips on Dime Store cap pistols.Somone Out thier please please make some real grips of some kind I heard the story about putting a piec of bike inner tube over them but I would rather have a set of real gun hand grips instead of a Viet Cong jungel fix.I am almost afraid to take them to the range for fear some one will ask to see it and I will get laughed out of the place, I guess I could wear a bag over my head.
