A friend of mine sent me the same greeting.... he has been in Ireland for the last year off and on. I looked it up on the internet and the correct response is...Nollaig Mhaith Chugat. The response to "happy Christms" being "A good Christmas to you".

Niner, Gaelic has been an ongoing study for me...my kids sometimes respond "Are you speaking Gaelic?" when I give them a chore to do!
Unfortunately it will likely remain
pigeon Gaelic for me 'till the day I croak.
