in the uk what are you guys allow to shoot ? handguns? rifles ? bolt , semi, lever, pump,

just intrested as i have heard that handguns may be coming back ????

The present bunch of vermin are so paranoid, they're trying to ban* de-activated weapons, blank firers and "realistic" toys.

Somehow, I can't see them allowing handguns back.

The only handguns allowed are those made before 1st Jan 1919 and of "non-commercial" calibres (you can have .455" but not 9mm etc.), furthermore, if you wish to shoot these, they must be securely stored at the range, or you can have the gun at home, as part of a collection, but are not allowed to use it (there are also restrictions on transporting such pieces).

*This is a "stealth" ban - it will be legal to own these pieces, but illegal to buy, loan, hire, give/receive or otherwise acquire such pieces (the only legal thing to do will be to hand them to the police for destruction) - so the government get to get rid of such pieces without having to pay a penny in compensation, which they would have to do in the case of a ban.

here in the peoples republic of australia , you can own any longarm , if you have a geniune reason .you can own and live fire up to semi-autos , rifle and shotgun .only farmers and persons that need a semi-auto can own them , you can not own a semi-auto rifle for club shooting ...but you can own any bolt , pump, lever, single shot rifles for shooting range or hunting. handguns you can own for club use only. must do x amount of comps per year to keep it.if you are farmer or need a handgun for your work you can carry one.ie cash carry work etc.full -auto you can own but must have collectors lic and must not be able to fire any live ammo. here is the queenland police web site it has laws.http://www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/w ... efault.htm

at present we can keep rifles but not automatic or semi automatic although semi auto .22"s are allowed.

No handguns unless they are section 7.3 before 1916 and have to be kept at a designated range.

Black Powder pistols and long barreled pistols are OK though.

We shoot at various ranges from 30yrd zero ranges to 600 yrd gallery, at Bisley and one or two others we can go back to 1,200 yrds. We also shoot small bore/miniature rifle on 25yrd indoor ranges, some of those go back to 50 and 100yrds as well.
