Bitter cold day on the Yorkshire moors 6c ETR range today but some of our more enterprising members had a solution to the rain and snow squalls with this rather rustic shelter.
A very enjoyable day out

You fellows are certainly not fair weather sportsmen when it comes to shooting your milsurps. Good photo post.

Well, either Joe is a hardass staying out in the elements or his deodorant isn't working too well.
I don't see any weapons in that two man sheltered pit. Just what are those two doing to put such smiles on their mugs.

Nice azelias Robert, a good splash of colour there.
The smiles were about us being smarter than the others and them knowing it, These range days are as much about bullshit and one upmanship as shooting.
That tarp made a real difference though, you really noticed the cold when you came topside, Joe and the others kept us supplied with hot drinks, it was pure luxury.
Kept the weapons dry so that you could even shoot dissolvable rifles like mousers.
Jims threatening to make a frame, mind you he's been threatening to make a hide for the trapper when we go at the clays and we're still waiting for that, so I won't hold my breath for the shelter frame.
Joe does look bloody cold though doesn't he?

Niner,
What part of LA? I'm in P'cola and would love to meet up with another LE fan in this part of the world.

Joe, isn't that the rear sight adjuster for that MAS I see on top of the tarp in the first picture.
I keep a 12x12 tarp and a small bag of ropes behind the seat of my Ranger along with an Austrian e-tool and a fire kit. Very versital piece of gear, you can sit on them, you can hang them over you, and if it gets really nasty out you can forget the tent and just roll up in the tarp, pack and all.
I tied the tarp over the truck and slept in the bed when the tent started to float one night.

I'm probably 50 miles from you. Maybe we could meet up some time at the Styx River Shooting range. It's about half way between us. I go there every once in a while....although have been busy with other things recently.
