The Italian Navy have just sold off 10,000 Lee Enfield rifles. 5000 No4s and 5000. No1MkIII and III*. Will any of these make it to the UK and if they do, will many survive from being deactivated?

Regards

Peter

The Eyties probably asked for them to be deactivated before they took delivery of them.

If any of those No1s in the photos were good to excellent I'll bare my arse in Fenwicks window.

The No 4's looked reasonable.

Interesting find though, hope a few do get over here might make the prices abit more sensible again.

Anyone know the history behind this lot?

Yes apparently they have all only been dropped the once, and that was in 1945!

I wonder if there is any ammunition being sold off. A few million rounds of HXP surplus would be nice :)

Peter.

The UK distributor for Euroarms is Henry Krank and they have been advertising Enfields for sale in their latest ads in the shooting mags. I suppose the Italian surplus is possibly to be their source of supply?

I emailed them, and despite their name (Euro-arms of america) at this point there shant be any brought over here. They probably think to stick you for more Pounds than they could us Dollars. I hope they're nice and plentiful enough that you guys will get some falling prices.
