New Certificate - suggestions

Well, after about three months, I've finally had my variation come back. I now have slots for 2 x .22 and 2 x .303, plus 1 x .577/.450. they all have to be collectors pieces (because my firearms officer is funny like that), but has anyone any suggestions/sources for British Enfield based actions to fill the bill.
And if anyone knows where a lee speed is around London for a reasonable price, I'd be much obliged

Hi Nick,
Congratulations on your FAC, what exactly does your FO mean by collectors?
If you have anything particular in mind then I cannot recommend Charles Stuart Associates highly enough when it comes to sourcing good kit.

Classic and Historic Sporting Arms have had some nice Lee Speeds in but I haven't seen Julian for a while so don't know exactly what he has.

I know that they might be a bit northern for you but they will send stuff down to a local dealer for perusal.
Good luck on filling your slots and putting in for your next half dozen, keep us posted.

Thanks for that Adam. as far as the Met are concerned, I've copied out the condition below:
"The firearms .22, .303, .577/.450 rifles, identified by an asterisk must be possessed, purchased or acquired by the holder of the certificate for the purpose of it being kept as an exhibit or part of a collection. The firearm may be used for target shooting on ranges where a safety certificate has been issued for the class of firearm."
which as far as I can tell, basically means I can have more than one of each calibre, and still shoot them.
time to put out feelers I guess.
cheers

dh,
Re: Adam's recommendation,
"...I think thats a missprint when dromia states he cannot recomend charles/stuart associates I think he meant to say he can recommend them..."
What he wrote was:
"...If you have anything particular in mind then I cannot recommend Charles Stuart Associates highly enough when it comes to sourcing good kit..."
(my emphases)
I think the problem was that the company name breaks the phrase and is long enough to make one miss the significant words in the latter part of the sentence.
Best wishes.

I had a feeling I was misreading Adam, as I've seen his complimentary comments about Charles/Stuart assoc. on here before. just out of interest, is £600 about standard price for a good Lee Speed? it seems to be what I'm looking at the moment, and I was wondering if that was the rule or the exception?
cheers

I would say £600 is pretty good, especially as UK prices go. That's about USD1,100, which would be perfectly acceptable in the US as dealer prices go. And British prices are usually far higher than American prices. If you have found a nice one for 600 quid, I'd take it, particularly if it is the civilian version of a military model (for example, a "volunteer" edition of the long Lee-Enfield mk. I).
