$25.95 was quite a bit of money in 1954.

I found a chart for conversion to 2003 dollars.

$25.95 in 1954 is approximately $178 in 2003 dollars.

The median family income was $4167 in 1954.

I recall in the mid '60s the local Coast to Coast Hardware store was selling Swiss 1911's.My Dad would'na let me purchase one as they were an "odd ball" calibre. :cry:
