British readers should be aware that heavy rains and flood damage at Bisley over the weekend have closed the ranges until further notice.

I hope it is repaired in time for the Trafalgar Meeting.

Hope their insurance is up to date.

That's a fair bit of water, how much precipitation in inches did they get ?

Thanks for the heads up, I got the email from the memsec.

I wonder if that will put the kybosh on the HBSA Veteran Long Range shoot on Sunday.

Precipitation Graeme? it looks like it bloody pissed it down

If they don't have it fixed for the Trafalgar it will certainly set them back a bit in lost income.

Woftam,

"...That's a fair bit of water, how much precipitation in inches did they get ?..."

It was less the amount they got than the fact it all came in one (or two) very short bursts that overwhelmed the soil drainage.

Just had a heads up because our Charity Shoot we organised for a member who passed away last year has been cancelled. That was to be September 2nd. I'm also reliably told that the ranges won't be repaired and open until October.

Thats a bugger Mick, mind you just see what happens when the HBSA mess with Me!

By being postponed that indicates that they are hoping to rechedule it so I might get a chance at it after all. :D

HBSA Long Range is now confirmed as Saturday 30th September with Friday 29th September as the practice day.

I have decided to enter two matches this year; the "Ommundsen" (Classic target rifle) and the "Raufoss" (First Gen 7.62mm Target Rifle).

For the Ommundsen I shall use my Sht Le Mk1*** (1905) with a folding Parker Plus sight and for the Raufoss it will be my L39A1.

There were some places left and I suspect some people will drop out due to the change of day from Sunday to Saturday.

The NRA have put back the pictures of the flood damage for those of you who wonder what a British summer is like. :D
