No.4 reliablity taken for granted

Hi All, After getting my first 2.5 MOA from my 'pet' service No.4 I thought I was really ready for my favorite shoot in Austin. So cocky was I that I didn't bring my usual 'backup' rifle, but a couple of No.4s for display.
During the warming shots my hairpin spring, of all things, broke. No more spring to it at all and not engaging the c/p. (The second stage seemed a tad light the last couple of shots, but I thought it was just me.)
I grabbed one of the display No.4s I'd brought and managed to salvage a last place (from second the year before) finish. To their credit, everyone attending was putting on a clinic about how well their pet rifles can shoot and I'd have had a tough go of it, anyway.
After a big helping of humble pie, the rifle's fixed and the Mk.1/2 I used as a backup showed a lot of promise with maybe just a little bit of tinkering.
Regards, Brad
