Not a firearm i know but it is a classic British rifle that i hope our readers enjoy seeing.

Its a BSA "L" Model.177 underlever air rifle, also referred to as the "Light" or "Ladies" model. It was manufactured in Birmingham between 1929 and 1932 according to the serial number.

It is 39 1/2 inches long and weighs 6lb 4oz.

The finish is very good and the model designation is still visible on top of

the air chamber.

The sights are quite good and are easy to use.

The loading tap and cocking lever are quite slick in operation.

This particular model was made by BSA from 1919 until 1935 and are still able to perform well today. I get as much pleasure from shooting these

old air rifles as i do my full bore rifles.

Ladies' Model, eh, Joe? Adam said you weren't to be trusted in the showers.

A mate of mine started collecting these when he was forced to hand in his Broomhandle Mauser and Lugers and he has an example of every model made. They are superbly made rifles and regularly turn up at the Bisley Fairs for serious money.

Yours is a real beauty. Thanks for sharing.

I'd trust you in the shower Joe - but then I'm 12,000 miles away, so that's no big ask.

Seriously nice firearm. Isn't 6lb a little heavy for a light model ? A No1 is only 8lb (OK 8lb 10oz).

Not an everyday weapon for sure

Good photos. What kind of camera are you using Joe?

Cpl.Parker, thanks for making your first post.

Here's my early BSA "Lincoln Jeffries" model that started this whole line of BSA air rifles. This example is dated 1909.

Some may remember these photos from the old board.

BOING!

These photos seem to have darkend whilst lying in photobucket, can that happen in this digital world?

I know sunlight does for proper photos, but can digitals degrade on servers?

More likely that some part of your system or their system has changed or "BEEN IMPROVED" as they say. Have you had a new computer or monitor or changed some software?

Beware of CD's degrading though, they are not indestructible.

If you store images on a CD, put the CD in a dry dark place in it's own case and only use it to download wanted items to the computer. I store all my images on Fuji PhotoDisc CR-R which have a UV shield.

@ Niner.

Robert my camera is a Nikon Coolpix 3100, a few years old now and held together with sticky tape but it still takes half decent fotos in good light.
