UK Army has in fact just extended the age limit for enlistment from 26 to 33,

The US Army ........ all that kit, manpower, technology ........... but in need of much improvement ........discipline, when in difficult dangerous situations i.e. reduce actions driven by panic! ............. no capacity (strategy) to resolve the situation in Iraq etc ..............
SUGGESTION put them under the complete control / leadership of the British General Staff .........but NOT the MOD!
The UK Army ............. little kit, manpower, not sufficient technology (how the Hxxx do you armour a Land Rover?) ......... in need of major investment
SUGGESTION 1 Reduce the number of MOD civil servants, especially those with no military experience by 50%.
Replace the current Minister of Defence by the next RSM due for retirement, money saved spend on the front line
SUGGESTION 2 ................... apply for major additional sponsorship from the US government, but with no strings attached

If any part of the US Army had ever been put under control of the British or French General staff, you would be typing this in German.
