A friend of mine at the club is looking for one of these for his No.1 MKIII. Can anyone help please?

I think you're looking for a piling swivel. I'm afraid I don't have any spare, but I've noticed some on the old reliable of ebay recently. That might be the quickest place to look. Failing that, its quite possible someone on here might have one, or that a gunsmith I know in London might have some squirreled away somewhere.

Hope that helps

or

P Quilliam you'll get him via the LERA website.

Brad beat me to it. That's a stacking swivel by the way. KCLRPC calls it a piling swivel. Is that part of the British English VS American English? I guess it's all pretty much the same thing whatever we call it.

Its definitely a piling swivel

Here's my attempt to demonstrate how not to pile No1s.

Must do some pictures of how to do it properly now I know.

Is that a Cooey rearsight on one of those Enfields? I'm curious as I've just been trying to find out about them.

Yes Nick its a Cooey on a Patt 14 No2.

Cracking little aperture sights that work on full an small bore rifles.

I enter it under classic with the Cooey and Service with the open sights in the HARC leagues.

They sound good. My club has a No2 MkIV, but I've never really competed with anything other than a No8. Oh, but I miss that rifle. I've got a Cooey sat in my display, but it won't sit on the receiver, and I'm loathe to have it filed to fit. They do look like very nice sights tho.
