1941 pic of some 4th Cavalry Troopers who have been mechanized as MC scouts.Thompsons (I think) on front forks,White half-track in background.Not sure what gun-mount is in half-track,looks big for a fifty cal.

Excellent period photo, the guys look like aviators in leather and goggles.
I think SC is right about the canvas cover.

I think you guys are right on the .50.It is probably bigger than I think and with the cover would fit.
Thanks for being patient with me learning the ropes of picture posting.
Anyone have interest in other horse cavalry pics?
