1916 BSA Mk III* Sporter(part 2)

found this one not far from the other one. probably done by the same smithy. Had the mount on it, i added the Redfield 1-4x scope. definitely another shooter. missing the magazine.

Not bad looking, although I like the woodwork on your previous find.
Magazine shouldn't be too hard to acquire.

I have a 1916 RSAF Enfield which was sported and I "kinda" restored.
Put on full stocks and the old , pinned rear sight was replaced with one that the windage adjuster works ..plus abit more..

Here's mine which no doubt you've seen before, its the Parker Hale No 4 action conversion. The wood was originally varnished which I stripped off and put on a linseed oil finish.
The sight mount is an Armalon no gunsmith mount, it needed shimming as it is designed for long range.
The scope is an old Ajax 4x with amazing light gathering properties, a good 15 minutes extra at least at dawn and dusk.
This now my main stalking rifle and has taken a few beasties over the years.
.303" is a bit OTT for Roe but bullet and load choice can make it less of a meat spoiler than the normal Red Deer round.

Nice all of them I have seen similar to the first one n Canada. I have a PH 1945 conv from a 1917 BSA No1 Mk3*. I have restocked it myself and it really does the business especially with 125 grain sierras.
I have a spare No1 mag or 3 and am willing to part with if no local alternative is available!

ive suddenly got the urge to search the local pawn shops for something to mess with , those are very fine looking and im not a saporter fan in general
its deer hunting season here right now and im having to revisit this thread because i gotta ask .....whats one of those little roe or reddeer weigh in at ? i see those photos and realise the diferances of hunting deer here and there

Hi there,
Roe deer weigh between 35lbs and 60 lbs. The 35lbs was my first ros doe cleaned and 60lbs is for a large buck. Red Stags go up to around 300lbs in weight That's a Roe in the photos red are much larger after it the Red Deer is very closely related to the Wapiti and can even cross breed with them.

Dromia I have a similar one by PH on a Mk111* 1917. I use 125 grain bullets and although it zips through Roe it also Zips through Fallow.
