In the light of the photos of the Inter-war Scout Cars, I thought the membership might find this of interest.

Danny Boy / Tom Keogh, the only survivor of the 12 sold*, has been rebuilt by a collector in England. Originally called "Danny Boy", it was re-named in honour of Col.-Comdt. Tom Keogh, killed by a mine on Macroom, in September 1922.

"Danny Boy / Tom Keogh,"

Irish Reg: YI 6449, Chassis Nu: 101 WO, Army Nu: ARR 1.

Apparently the rebuilt vehicle is in Wales.

Enjoy.

Apparently the vehicle was rebuilt on the rolling chassis of 'Danny Boy', the last survivor of the 12 (of 13) armoured cars sold off at the end of their service life, by the Irish Army. I believe that the 13th vehicle was kept by the Irish themselves.

Why can I never find second-hand cars like that?

Bolomk1, that is a Rolls Royce armored car. I'd love top have that for rush hour traffic.

Sorry, I mis-read the question.

Dave is correct, the vehicle is rebuilt on an original Rolls-Royce Armoured Car rolling chassis (note the double rear wheels).

With a Vickers gun in the turret and wheels that are too large to clamp, I suspect that any driver wold have few problems with parking wardens.

A few years ago, someone registered their M-8 Greyhound with the DMV and got license plates for it. The Rolls has more class though.
