DAMN THE FRENCH!

After all the phoning and talking and promising with Frankonia about this Sniper 1891/30 guess what?

We contacted thyem yesterday to get an up date on the delivery time ( Was first end May then Mid June ) and they have not even started to re-size the chambers. I was told that my rifle was away being proofed, now they say it will be at least 3 weeks before they start to re chamber plus perhaps 2 months at the proof house. They also confirmed that the re chambering was being done using a hand drill not a floating head!

I HAVE CANCELLED THE ORDER.

Got to start again from scratch so I am not a happy bunny at the moment.

Not good at all Duncan. Its a shame its so difficult to get the paperwork sorted for one in the original caliber. Sit tight, something will turn up!!!!

Maybe doing the paperwork is the better way?

Lots of cheap ammo.

If you choose Enfield instead of a Mosin you can go to .303Epps and still use .303brit cases.

To bad lad. You have my sympathy.

Maybe it's better to cut your losses and start again given the level of so called service.

After spending the afternoon on the phone and internet I have finally tracked down a Mauser K98k in 8x60S. Mosin now on 'Back Burner' :(

Not too bad, cases can be made from 30-06, S&B makes good 200grn bullets.

If you can as a foreign resident, I would look seriously at getting the paperwork for a military calibre rifle. At least you would get the rifle in the original chambering.

Regards

Peter.

I was wondering how you convert the .30-06 brass to 8x60s
