2 shot top hole. Shifted point of aim lower. 2 shot second hole. dropped Point of aim again. final shell lowest hole.

Sweet shooting rifle. gotta practice with it to get a feel for the sight.

175gr federal classic
I'm guessing that it is not 7x57.

What year was it made? I have 2 of them, both Ovieto, both 7x57. One 1926 and the other 1930.

The 1930 bore looks like new but the other is a smooth bore for the last couple of inches to the muzzle. Over the last couple of years I have gathered all the parts except for the rear sight that are necessary to have it cut down to a 17" carbine configuration.

Out of the 11 or so Mausers I own the '30 M1916 is the only one I have fired in the last 2 or 3 years.

I picked up 200 rounds of Cavim ammo a while back.

Wow, you must be shooting those big round nose bullets. 175 is about the limit for a 7mm.

7x57 is like the .303 and 30.30, a classic round that has been getting the job done for well over a hundred years.
